Venue Spotlight

Trevitt Hall

I have known about Trevitt Hall for awhile now, but it wasn't until two weekends ago that I actually saw it for the very first time. I was very impressed with how beautiful it was! When you hear the words 'banquet hall' it normally puts an empty building that can be rented out for events in mind. But not this place....it is so much more than just an empty building! It has beautiful greenery all around the building with fountains and artwork setting it off beautifully. Trevitt Hall is located in Dalton, GA only about 15 minutes south of Chattanooga, TN. They can rent out the whole building or split it up in thirds. They can also cater your event. Check out their website at www.trevitthall.com for your next event!

I was the maid of honor in a wedding hosted there this past weekend. While the wedding was beautiful and I would recommend Trevitt Hall on the merits of the building alone - it is beautiful, I have a hard time recommending them based on their service.

We rented the venue for longer than I am guessing most weddings do. Immediately after the ceremony, their wedding coordinator was trying to rush us through photos to begin food service faster than what the bride had wanted. We were supposed to have a cocktail hour(appetizers only) - it lasted only 15 to 20 minutes. The next day, after talking to some family members, they didn't even realize there was an appetizer service.

Come to find out, their staff wasn't scheduled as late as the event was, so at 8:30, we had to ask for the beverage service to be set up again. They had taken it down to a pitcher of water - no ice. As far as we are concerned, we paid for a service at the venue until a certain time, they did not book their staff to meet that time frame.

We were taking pictures when dinner was served - 30 minutes before the bride had requested, the bridal party had to eat seperately from the rest of the guests and they wanted to cut the cake immediately after we returned from pictures - without allowing the bride and groom to eat - after putting my foot down, that did not happen.

We felt rushed because they did not plan staff accordingly.

Again, I would recommend Trevitt Hall on the merits of the venue alone, but please make sure you have your own wedding planner that will deal with the two coordinators at the venue as they are not the most responsive or organized two people I have ever met. Returning emails and phone calls didn't prove to be a strong point. Also, make sure they have booked their staff long enough to cover the needs of your event.

Again, beautiful place, beautiful wedding, disappointing service.
