Cake Topper

I normally do not tend to go for cake toppers, but this one caught my eye. I think it is funny for those "unique weddings". I saw it on the website www.wherebridesgo.com/ and thought that I would share it with you all. I tend to go with toppers that match the theme of your wedding, such as a snowflake for a winter-themed wedding. It is funny how much a cake can stand out if it is presented correctly. One secret, elevate it by putting a box on the table and covering it with a cloth. This brings the cake more to eye level. Cakes can be expensive, you might as well have them seen by your guests!

Bridal Show 2008
The Bridal Show was so much fun this year! As most of you know by now, my mother is Michelle McKibben Photography. With both of us being in the bridal market, we both had a booth at the show. We had such a good time! Our friend, Toya, came all the from Ohio to help work the booth. We also had my sisters, Brianna and Makayla, and my co-owner and husband, Ben, to help. There were over 600 brides, so all of the staff came in very helpful! Here are some pictures of our booths..we already have so many ideas for next year's booths!

Thrash-Jensen Wedding
On Friday, June 4th, with the help of Allure, Jill Jensen and Will Thrash tied the knot at the Fairyland Club. It was such a sincere, sweet ceremony that will be remembered by all who were attending. The reception was also at the Club, allowing a smooth transition from the ceremony to the party. Everything, including the bride and groom was beautiful..and the cakes were delicious! Congratulations Jill and Will...may you always have a happy marriage!

27 Dresses....No More!
As most of us know, it is difficult being a bridesmaid...and sometimes even more difficult being a bride and having them. You have to consider every single lady, their body shapes and their own special taste when it comes to clothes and the bridesmaid dress that they have agreed to wear just for you on your wedding day. I remember that their were only two things that stressed me out during the planning of my own wedding, one being that I only had 3 months to plan it, and the other being the bridesmaid's dresses. One of my girls complained so much that I finally said to my fiance "I don't care what they want anymore...this is what they will wear!" Yes, they ended up all looking so beautiful but I did not consider if they would like the dress or if they even could wear it again.
As I was doing "blog research" I came across The Bride's Cafe blog (a floral designer) which featured TwoBirds Bridesmaid. Two Birds has come up with a FANTASTIC idea..one that I wish I would have had during my own wedding. It is one dress...worn 10 different ways. Such a great idea. Now you can have your ladies in a great dress, but they can make it their own by styling it the way that fits their bodies the best. What a win-win situation!

Look at all the great colors to chose from!

So many ways to wear this dress! I just love it!!
