Favor Boxes

As I was searching the web, I came across these super cute favor boxes from the Seattle-based company I Need Favor from Kate. Presentation is half of the present and with these gift boxes, they are sure to love whatever it is that you put inside!

Cake Topper

I normally do not tend to go for cake toppers, but this one caught my eye. I think it is funny for those "unique weddings". I saw it on the website www.wherebridesgo.com/ and thought that I would share it with you all. I tend to go with toppers that match the theme of your wedding, such as a snowflake for a winter-themed wedding. It is funny how much a cake can stand out if it is presented correctly. One secret, elevate it by putting a box on the table and covering it with a cloth. This brings the cake more to eye level. Cakes can be expensive, you might as well have them seen by your guests!

Beautiful

I just love this saying. It is simple, yet truthful. I think we forget how beautiful each person and life is in general. But yet, when we attend a wedding it somehow comes back to us, and I just love that about a wedding. La vie est belle...Life is beautiful.

Bridal Show 2008

The Bridal Show was so much fun this year! As most of you know by now, my mother is Michelle McKibben Photography. With both of us being in the bridal market, we both had a booth at the show. We had such a good time! Our friend, Toya, came all the from Ohio to help work the booth. We also had my sisters, Brianna and Makayla, and my co-owner and husband, Ben, to help. There were over 600 brides, so all of the staff came in very helpful! Here are some pictures of our booths..we already have so many ideas for next year's booths!

Thrash-Jensen Wedding

On Friday, June 4th, with the help of Allure, Jill Jensen and Will Thrash tied the knot at the Fairyland Club. It was such a sincere, sweet ceremony that will be remembered by all who were attending. The reception was also at the Club, allowing a smooth transition from the ceremony to the party. Everything, including the bride and groom was beautiful..and the cakes were delicious! Congratulations Jill and Will...may you always have a happy marriage!

27 Dresses....No More!

As most of us know, it is difficult being a bridesmaid...and sometimes even more difficult being a bride and having them. You have to consider every single lady, their body shapes and their own special taste when it comes to clothes and the bridesmaid dress that they have agreed to wear just for you on your wedding day. I remember that their were only two things that stressed me out during the planning of my own wedding, one being that I only had 3 months to plan it, and the other being the bridesmaid's dresses. One of my girls complained so much that I finally said to my fiance "I don't care what they want anymore...this is what they will wear!" Yes, they ended up all looking so beautiful but I did not consider if they would like the dress or if they even could wear it again.

As I was doing "blog research" I came across The Bride's Cafe blog (a floral designer) which featured TwoBirds Bridesmaid. Two Birds has come up with a FANTASTIC idea..one that I wish I would have had during my own wedding. It is one dress...worn 10 different ways. Such a great idea. Now you can have your ladies in a great dress, but they can make it their own by styling it the way that fits their bodies the best. What a win-win situation!

Look at all the great colors to chose from!

So many ways to wear this dress! I just love it!!

Romance Trivia

Hey Ladies! It was a pleasure meeting all of you yesterday! I just wanted to blog about the Romance Trivia game that Allure and Michelle McKibben Photography are doing. You do not have to create a blog account in order to play the game. You can email the answers to Allure at natasha@allureeventconsulting.com or Michelle McKibben Photography at BMCKINC@aol.com . Either way will work, but please remember that questions from BOTH WEBSITES have to be answered in order to win the HONEYMOON TOTE.

We will post the winner on both of our blogs on Saturday, January 12th. GOOD LUCK!

Guest Book Alternative

What a great idea from Adesso Albums! I recently had a wedding where the Bride and Groom decided to use this idea. It turned out to be a hit with all the guests! In today's world, we are always needing something new and different to catch our attention. Grab your guests attention as soon as they enter the wedding site with this special guest book. You will need to have a Polaroid camera in order to be able to use this book as it intended, so if you don't have one, make the investment so that you will have a guestbook that you will actually want to look through! Have your wedding planner assign someone to take pictures of the guests as they come into the ceremony location. Once the picture is taken, place the picture in the slits that are precut into the book. After that is finished, the guest(s) can write special notes and words of encouragement next to their picture.

This past week has been just super crazy for me and my coordinators. We had a rehearsal dinner on Thursday and a full day of wedding fun on Friday with the ceremony and reception of Jill Jensen and Will Thrash. Today, with only a few hours of sleep, I was able to conquer the Chattanooga Bridal Show with the help of my coordinators, Brianna McKibben, Toya Webb, and my husband, Ben. It was an exhausting week, but it was so much fun. I will post pictures of the week sometime within the next few days. Thank you to all of the brides who stopped by my booth, I hope that I can help you plan for one of the best days of your lives!
