Photofetti

I got this idea from my most recent bride, Jill. They are small pictures that are made into confetti that you can spread around the reception. It is a great conversational piece for families who are trying to get to know each other but don't have much to talk about!
...
You can have several pictures of you and your groom, or pictures of friends, family or pets! What a surprise for one of your guest to look down and see their picture as confetti! Photofetti is so versitle. It can be used for weddings, birthday parties, or any other special gatherings.
...
Okay, here is the website...I am starting to sound like a representative for Photofetti....haha! http://www.photofetti.com/

Wedding Song

Jesu - Joy of Man's Desiring

I love this song..it is so beautiful, especially with these ladies doing the vocals. It is times like these that I wish I could sing! This song is played at a lot of weddings, because it is so beautiful and joyous.

Winter Centerpiece

A very cute, inexpensive centerpiece that is perfect for winter parties! I (once again) got this cute picture idea from Better Homes and Gardens…can you tell that I love that magazine!? The idea for this centerpiece is simple, but so adorable..and not too overused. Pinecones are something that everyone enjoys, mix those with small ornaments, tie a ribbon around the jar and write a little note for your guests! Pretty simple…
a
I don’t know if I will get a chance to blog until after Christmas. Things are going well..but as usual at Christmas time, crazy too. If I do not get another chance, I wish you all a Merry Christmas and hope that you are filled with joy and love this holiday.

Love this dress!

I absolutly LOVE this dress! It came from www.JordanFashions.com . I was just searching the internet and came across this and just had to post it. It is times like these I wish I were going to a high school dance again. Picking out prom dresses is so fun..especially when you can find a GREAT dress like this for such a steal. When I was in school, I feel that they did not have as good of selections as they do now. Maybe I can talk my husband into taking me somewhere that would require a dress like this...

Candy Box Caramels

I found these delicious caramels on Better Homes and Garden's website. Here is the recipe:

Ingredients
12 ounces chocolate- and/or vanilla-flavor
candy coating*, coarsely chopped
1 cup
toffee pieces, crushed; finely chopped pistachios; and/or nonpareils
48 short plastic or wooden
skewers (optional)
1 14-ounce package
vanilla caramels (about 48), unwrapped
2 ounces chocolate- and/or vanilla-flavor candy coating*, coarsely chopped (optional)
b
Directions
1. In a microwave-safe 4-cup measure, place the 12 ounces candy coating.
Microwave on 100% power (high) for 3 minutes or just until melted, stirring every 30 seconds.

2. Place toffee pieces, nuts, or nonpareils in a shallow dish. If desired, insert a skewer into each caramel. Dip one caramel into melted candy coating; turn to coat as much of the caramel as desired, allowing excess coating to drip off caramel. (If not using skewers, use a fork to lift caramel out of candy coating, drawing the fork across the rim of the glass measure to remove excess coating from caramel.) Place dipped caramel in toffee pieces, nuts, and/or nonpareils, turning to coat. Place coated caramel on a baking sheet lined with waxed paper. Repeat with remaining caramels. Let caramels stand about 1 hour or until coating dries.

3. If desired, microwave 2 ounces of a contrasting color of candy coating in a microwave-safe bowl on 100% power (high) for 2 minutes or just until melted, stirring every 30 seconds. Cool slightly. Transfer coating to a small, heavy plastic bag; cut a small hole in one corner of bag and drizzle additional coating over coated caramels. Let caramels stand until set. Makes 48 pieces.

4. To Store: Layer caramels between waxed paper in an airtight container; cover. Store at room temperature for up to 1 week or freeze for up to 3 months.

5. *If desired, substitute milk chocolate, dark chocolate, and/or white chocolate baking squares with cocoa butter for candy coating.

Christmas Table Decor

I just love this decoration idea from Better Homes and Garden. Red is one of my favorite colors so this picture caught my eye pretty quickly. Just take red roses (or white), put them into a washed out can and glue the candy canes to the can. To secure the canes, tie a cute red, white or stripped ribbon around the can. Easy as that!

If you are from Chattanooga, you know that MoonPies are a part of our history. Everyone can remember the delightful treat of getting a MoonPie and a RC Cola! Now you can share this great memory with your guests. Welcome your guests to Chattanooga by adding a few MoonPies to your basket along with a MoonPie candle. Your guests will eat the MoonPies right up, but leave that lingering memory of your wedding and Chattanooga by giving them a candle that they can keep using for a long time. You can get these great treats and candles at www.MoonPie.com

Yummy Favors

Cutie Pie Cookies
What a cute gift! These very chic, delicous cookies can be used as wedding favors or any other gift giving that you have to do. Find old pictures of you and a few special guests that are attending your wedding and have cookies made out of the pictures. Then put the cookies at the tables where you know those people will be...it will be a great surprse for them! Check out Cutie Pie Cookie for more great cookie ideas!

A Warm Welcome

Leaving a small gift in guests' hotel rooms before they arrive is a personable way to greet them. Tea -- presented with wonderful accessories or just a note -- will be appreciated when the air is chilly. Give gifts to all out-of-town guests, or to special friends or relatives.
This basket (from Pearl River) is filled with ginger-tangerine loose tea (by Ito En), porcelain teacups (from Pearl River), and rock-candy swizzle sticks (from Takashimaya); we tucked six or so filters inside a coin envelope (from Waste Not Paper).
You can also buy loose tea (below) in bulk -- -- this is a green chai variety (by Rishi Tea) -- and fill filter bags (by T-Sac); slip some into cellophane bags, and tie with yarn.

Any Soldier

With Veterans Day this past weekend, I was reminded about a website that I found last year. It is www.anysoldier.com , a website designed to recognize all the soldiers and let them know that people are really thinking about and supporting them. Imagine if you were fighting knowing that the majority of the country that you are fighting for was not supporting you...seems pretty ridiculous.
```
Let’s not forget our soldiers this Christmas. Anysoldier.com has thousands of soldiers listed, each giving information about what they could use the most for Christmas. Most need good hygiene products (not the cheap stuff..they already have that), items to keep them busy (crossword puzzles, movies, etc.) and goodies like candy and other snacks that they do not get.
```

I love anysoldier.com for the simple fact that I like to support our troops. A lot of the times we want to support but do not know exactly what to do..well here is your opportunity to help.
```
If anyone has questions, feel free to ask. I’m not a pro at the website, but I have been on it a couple of times. I will try to answer any questions if you have them.
Sales Blitz
SALES BLITZ!
Allure and Michelle McKibben Photography joined forces on Monday for a sales blitz to Chattanooga wedding and meeting vendors. Our packages were so cute and we loved giving the gifts to help promote our businesses. Inside each package were two boxes, one containing chocolate fudge and the other containing these bright colored malted milkballs that we found at a unique gift shop. We also added cards, not the usual business cards, but huge half-page cards that would really stick out to vendors and brides. We still have several vendors that we need to get to, so if we haven't been by your place yet...we will be there soon! We appreciate anyone and everyone who can refer business to us and we will do the same for you!
Dan and Kim
Dan and Kim Royer
June 2, 2007
I love this picture of Dan and Kim..Streamers may seem like a good idea, but they sure are hard to walk through! Dan and Kim got stuck half way down the stairs!
From right to left: Ryan, Ben, Scott, Dan, Blackburn
As Dan and Kim were leaving the reception, the groomsmen decided to escort them out..military style!
The Royer wedding took place in Utah...and it was fabulous! With the view of snowcapped mountains and wandering elk, it was captivating as it was touching. Kim made a beautiful bride and Dan didn't do too bad for a groom either. Lovely couple and even better friends.
Jill and Will
NOW FEATURING:
Jill Jensen and Will Thrash
Friday, January 4, 2008
Jill and Will are two great people with a great sense of wedding style. Having their wedding in January, the most appropriate theme is WINTER WONDERLAND, of course! With the colors white, silver and icy blue draped all throughout the ceremony and reception places, the feeling of winter will be most evident.
January 4th is right around the corner, and we are looking forward to the wedding as much as Jill and Will are. We will make sure that we post more about this fantastic couple once they become Mr. and Mrs. Thrash. Good Luck!
